Radar — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Radar is an independent service operated from Israel. The operator of Radar is the "data controller" for the personal data described here.

2. Data we collect

• Account data (only if you sign in): your email address, display name and profile picture, received from the sign-in provider (Google Sign-In, or email sign-in where offered) through our authentication provider, Supabase. A unique user ID is created for your account.
• Your preferences: the language you read in, the keywords, topics, sources and interests you follow, your alert and notification choices, and display settings. Much of this is kept in your own browser (local storage); when you are signed in, the parts needed for alerts and syncing are stored with your account.
• Alert delivery data (only if you turn alerts on): the browser push-notification subscription your browser creates, and, if you choose to receive alerts on Telegram, the Telegram chat you connect.
• Technical and usage data: server and error logs created when your browser talks to our servers, which can include your IP address, browser type, the pages or API endpoints requested and timestamps. We use these only to operate, debug and secure the service.

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, payment card numbers, or the content of your Google account (such as Gmail, Drive, Calendar or Contacts).

3. How we use your data

• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To personalize your feed: show reports in your language and in the topics, sources and keywords you chose.
• To send the alerts you asked for (browser push or Telegram) when a matching report appears.
• To translate news content into the language you read in.
• To keep the service running, fix errors, prevent abuse and comply with the law.
• To answer you when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5. Service providers (processors)

We share personal data only with providers that run parts of Radar for us, under their own security and privacy terms:

• Supabase — user authentication and the database that stores accounts and account-linked settings.
• Vercel — website hosting and server functions (receives the technical data in section 2 when your browser loads the site).
• Google — Google Sign-In; and translation and AI services (Google Translate, Google Gemini) used to translate and summarize public news text.
• Microsoft Translator — translation of public news text.
• Telegram — reading public channels used as news sources, and delivering alerts if you connect Telegram.

Translation and AI services receive the public news text being translated. When a translation request is made from your browser, the provider also sees the technical data any web request carries (such as your IP address). They do not receive your account details from us.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service. These providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States and the EU.

6. Cookies and local storage

Radar uses your browser's local storage and essential cookies/tokens to keep you signed in (Supabase session) and to remember your language, sources, keywords and settings on your device. A service worker caches parts of the app so it loads fast and works offline. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings (doing so signs you out and resets your on-device settings).

7. How long we keep data

• Account data and account-linked settings: for as long as your account exists.
• Alert subscriptions: until you turn alerts off, the subscription expires, or you delete your account.
• Technical logs: for a short period, only as long as needed to operate and secure the service.
• Data stored only in your browser stays on your device until you clear it.

8. Deleting your account and your rights

You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to delete your Radar account entirely, by emailing Afi1982@gmail.com from the email address on your account (subject: "Delete my Radar account"). We handle requests within 7 business days and delete the account, its settings and its alert subscriptions from our systems within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something.

Depending on where you live (for example under Israel's Privacy Protection Law or the EU/UK GDPR), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data-protection authority.

9. Security

All traffic to Radar is encrypted with HTTPS. Account data is stored with our authentication and database provider with access controls, and access is limited to what is needed to run the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users of a breach where the law requires.

10. Children

Radar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will post a clear notice on the site before they take effect.
