NABU detained the deputy head of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, Vladimir Tsenov. He appears in the anti-corruption bureau's materials under the code name "Price" and is suspected of facilitating the work of fraud centers. The arrest occurred against the background of new details of the Carthage operation, published the day before by NABU and SAP. According to the investigators, the criminal organization paid senior security officials for the illegal operation of the illegal business. The Bureau's materials speak of at least 52 fraud centers, in which approximately 2,700 workers were employed. For covering one office, according to investigators, about $7,000 was transferred to law enforcement officers every month. NABU claims the program was not limited to phone scams. The organization has also been linked to the sale of drugs, the production of counterfeit cigarettes and counterfeit foreign currency, as well as attacks and kidnappings. "Price", according to the investigation, was responsible for solving problems with law enforcement officers. On the same day, NABU detained the deputy head of the SBU's National State Defense Department, Major General Sergei Duka. The bureau said that a senior security official blocked the search and threatened detectives with a gun. In total, the operatives include current high-ranking employees of the SBU, the National Police and the Prosecutor General's Office, as well as representatives of the criminal community. NABU continues to investigate the Carthage case.
