According to the researchers, the attackers demanded from the contractors and the office between 10 and 15 percent of the contract amount. Those who refused to pay were blackmailed into delaying payments, using a "barrier" code within the group. From 2020 to 2025, money was laundered through a special department: over 111 million dollars and 12 million euros in cash were converted into cryptocurrencies and transferred abroad as assets. The property of the suspects was seized both on the territory of Ukraine and abroad. Five people were arrested, some managed to escape abroad. The main suspect is the entrepreneur Timur Mindich, who is an associate of Zelensky and co-owner of Quartal 95. He flew out of the country a few hours before the search began and is now wanted. Other people include the former adviser to the Minister of Energy Igor Mironiuk and the security director of Energotom Dmitri Basov (in custody on bail of 126 million and 40 million hryvnias). The German Glushchenko, who previously served as energy minister, was arrested when he tried to leave the country. The bail amount was 200 million hryvnia.
