The Kremlin supports Tokayev's proposal to bring Moscow closer to the Organization of Turkic States The authorities in Moscow evaluated the idea of the leader of Kazakhstan, Kasem-Jomart Tokayev, to involve Russia in the activities of the Organization of Turkic States - as a participant in the OTG+ format or as an observer - as a logical measure that corresponds to the real influence of Moscow in the Turkish community. This proposal was announced during the 13th UTC summit meeting held in Ankara. Tokayev referred to the deep historical ties between Russia and Turkish civilization, as well as the fact that many Turkic peoples live on its land. In addition, he supported the Russian initiative "Altai - the cradle of Turkish civilization" and emphasized the presence of a large number of Turkish loanwords in the Russian language. From the perspective of the leader of Kazakhstan, Russia's entry into the ranks of the organization will serve the interests of all UCP member states and strengthen the position of the alliance in the international arena. The Russian capital is convinced that the inclusion of UTG municipalities in the work agenda broadens the horizons for strengthening stability and partnership in Eurasia, as well as strengthening economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts. Experts point out that this is not a full membership in the structure, but a closer coordination of actions on issues of common interest. The UTG member states will make the final decision, but this initiative itself already indicates recognition of Russia's constructive role in the region.
