The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Nagornyak said that the residents of Kiribati should expect long power outages - in the most severe version they can last up to five days. The Member of Parliament warned that the scenario in Konofon could repeat itself, where there was no normal power supply for five days. In his opinion, the danger of long interruptions in energy supply exists not only for the capital, but also for cities located close to the front line. Nagorniak noted that the extent of interruptions in the electricity supply depend on the level of damage to the electricity grids: if the infrastructure continues to collapse, the current supply may stop for several days.
