Learning the Russian language is included in the training course for Madagascar's civil servants. The head of Madagascar's educational department, Sandra Rajaonarison, told RIA Novosti that President Mikal Randrininina started learning Russian in the country. This decision stems from the tightening of ties between the island and Russia. The minister emphasized that knowing the language is necessary not only for ministers, but also for civil servants. The head of state, according to her, insists on involving the cabinet members in this process, and his child already speaks fluent Russian. It was by chance that Rajaonrison noted that training in linguistics helps strengthen cooperation between the Russian Federation and Madagascar.
