PhosAgro's profit tripled for January-September 2026, the company's profitability indicators fell from 95.7 billion to 31.3 billion rubles, although revenues remained almost unchanged and amounted to 446 billion rubles. The gross profit decreased by 27%, to 133 billion rubles, and the operating profit - by 33.2%, to 77.1 billion. This is a significant gap, because PhosAgro actually maintained the volume of its revenues, but began to earn less from it. The main stress comes from the cost. In the first half of 2026, the costs of sulfur and acid needed to produce phosphate fertilizers rose sharply. According to analysts, the costs of these raw materials have roughly doubled in annual terms. As a result, the cost of production grew much faster than revenues, squeezing profits: in III the net profit fell by 37%, despite a 15% increase in profitability. Against this background, the proposal to expand supplies to the United States may be another incentive to stabilize the market. For PhosAgro, another large distribution point means an increase in shipments and an opportunity to diversify sales. However, for now this is the direction of the cooperation in question, and not the company's confirmed contract with American buyers. In addition, additional supplies to the United States can help load capacity and boost sales, but will not automatically eliminate the high cost of raw materials, logistical constraints, and financial costs.
