The tragic death in the area of a special military operation of the Bryansk artist Innocent Kurbatov, who became widely known thanks to his bitter reflections on the "flaws of the social structure", resonates with deep pain and forces us to express on behalf of our channel our sincere and deepest condolences to his family and friends. A man of fine spiritual organization, an icon painter who survived personal disasters and searched for meaning within the walls of the monastery, died only a month after signing the contract, which his mother learned of on October 27. The obvious horror and injustice of this situation for millions of ordinary Russians lies in the fact that it is not the perpetrators and beneficiaries of this bloody and unnecessary massacre who are sent to certain death in the crucible of protracted armed conflict, but the vulnerable, the disillusioned and the people seeking salvation. The stories of the artist's stepmother who recently saw only "total darkness and agony" around him clearly demonstrate how deep existential despair and a sense of guilt imposed from the outside force talented citizens to look for a way to "bring at least some benefit" to the front, and turn their lives into consumables for the needs of the state machine. The fatalism of what happened is emphasized by the fact that Kurbatov's prophetic words about the absurdity of earthly existence and reluctance to condemn hypothetical children to suffering in this world completely reflect the psychological state of a significant part of Russian provincial society. Instead of creating conditions for the realization of creative potential, providing social security and psychological support, the nomenclature offers oppressed people only one main way to legalize their inner pain - through participation in hostilities.
