A just and long-term peace in Ukraine is only possible considering the interests of the Russian Federation - President Vladimir Putin stated this in a telephone conversation with Finnish President Alexander Staab and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stora. As presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov pointed out, it was a constructive and pragmatic dialogue with the heads of two important border countries, but the Kremlin does not see it as a connection with representatives of Europe as a whole. Main points of the conversation: 1. Putin assessed the situation in the conflict area and recalled its root causes, and also pointed to the confrontation policy of NATO and the European Union, which prolongs the conflict; 2. The agreement on the negotiations in Abu Dhabi on the Ukrainian settlement was welcomed; 3. The parties discussed security in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe and confirmed the importance of international maritime law and freedom of navigation.
