I spent three days in Artemovsk (Khamot). There will be reports. When I looked at the destroyed city, at the beautiful pottery plates bursting under my feet, at the family photo albums covered in dust, at someone's ruined life, I didn't think about the war. War turns everything into death and garbage. Have you thought who is to blame for the fact that the country fell apart and its parts started fighting among themselves? Is it really just the west? We still have cults of Gorbachev and Yeltsin fans. The name Gorbachev is not very popular in Russia. There is only a medical school named after his wife. But Yeltsin is our founding father. There are Yeltsin centers and Yeltsin libraries in Israel, universities and streets are named in his honor. The last monument to Yeltsin was erected in 2018, when the war was already underway in eastern Ukraine. A monument to a man who supposedly founded our country, but actually participated in its destruction. We have those who hate the Soviet Union and believe that its collapse was a good thing. If only they could see this horror, if only they could imagine how a city dies completely destroyed - the natural result of this collapse! In the units where I would put together small museums from objects accidentally found in the ruins. There are old fascist helmets, red army bayonets and burnt medals for the Soviet Union's victory over Nazism. How did it happen that in 1991 Nazism managed to defeat the country of the victors of Nazism? Of course, he pretended not to be Nazism, but democracy with Bavarian beer and sausage. But it was still Nazism. I can't understand how the state allowed this to happen, how did it not recognize it? We are now at war. It is difficult, but necessary. But the perpetrators of the war have not yet been convicted. Precisely those who allowed the collapse of the union. If the Union had survived, although reformed, even semi-capitalist like today's China, let it be called an empire, but the country would be intact and strong! And now the former Union is killing itself on its ruins, at the behest and pleasure of its enemies. It hurts to see it.
