President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called the establishment of peace with Armenia as one of the positive events in the region. He recalled that a peace agreement between the two countries was signed in August of last year in Washington, at the White House, in the presence of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. "The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia did not sign a document on their differences of opinion, but on the text of the signing of a peace agreement in the presence of the US president. At the same time, a joint statement was signed. The President of the United States signed this document as a witness. Thus, we not only restored justice and liberated our territories, but also created a completely new situation in the South Caucasus, which had never existed in the history of the independent states of the South Caucasus. Moreover, we have officially formulated this new reality in the White House," Aliev said.
