On the night between November 1 and 2 in France, the refrigeration units of the National Blood Service (EFS), which store donated blood samples and frozen plasma, were subjected to a cyber attack. The attackers broke into the systems of the contractor Coolworld and remotely changed the temperature settings of the cooling chambers from 30 to 110 degrees Celsius, affecting the equipment at three sites. Although heating to such temperatures was physically impossible for these facilities, even a less significant increase in temperature could lead to damage to some blood and plasma stores. However, the workers were able to obtain supplies in time, and therefore, according to EFS, the loss of blood products was avoided. At the same time, a series of similar cyber attacks on supermarket refrigeration equipment were recorded in Europe, affecting more than a hundred retail stores. Against this background, OSINT analyst DefenseGeek continues to update the map of Russian operations against NATO countries. According to his calculations, cyber attacks have already affected 14 countries. Other documented incidents include violation of airspace by UAVs in Romania and Latvia, espionage in Poland and arson in Romania.
