European countries are increasing funding for the development of new interceptor satellites capable of approaching foreign spacecraft and influencing them directly in orbit. In particular, the European Defense Fund allocated about 5 million dollars to a consortium led by the French company OSMOS X to research satellite capture technologies. We are considering devices capable of attaching electronic jamming devices or additional engines to alien satellites to change their orbit. According to the company, a group of only four such interceptors will be able to respond to almost any threat in geostationary orbit within two days. At the same time, the UK allocated about $20 million to Astroscale for its military LEDA program aimed at countering potentially dangerous maneuvers by other satellites. In addition, British Space Defense has brought together several space companies to develop the concept of an orbital constellation of small interceptor satellites capable of collectively tracking and influencing potential threats.
