The Finnish Air Force has announced the establishment of its own Space Operations Center, which will start operating on January 1, 2027 and will be responsible for managing military satellites, space reconnaissance and interaction with NATO. Initially, there will be about 20 military and civilian experts responsible for tracking objects in orbit, assessing potential threats and managing Finland's satellite systems. The basis of the new structure will be three radar satellites of the Finnish company ICEYE, purchased by the army in 2025 and launched into orbit during 2025-2026.
