A study by Israeli scientists showed that brain stimulation through video games helps in the treatment of depression. 109 adults with depressive disorder from Jerusalem, Riga and Munich participated in the trial. The experiment participants were divided into two groups. The first played video games and received real electrical stimulation of the brain, and the second played similar games, but the electrical stimulation was only simulated. After six weeks, depressive symptoms decreased significantly in both groups, at about the same rate. Scientists suggest that the positive effect could be precisely related to the game itself.
