The German Helsing company introduced the Contra air defense system and two new interceptors AD-1 incendiary and AD-2 ambush for combating fast UAVs and cruise missiles. The AD-1 bomber develops more than 700 km/h with a range of over 20 km and an interception height of up to 9 km. The simpler AD-2 Ambush, powered by a solid propulsion motor, accelerates to 3,000 km/h (Mach 2.5) and is designed to intercept targets at speed. Both devices initially receive data about the target from the ground, and in the last section they are guided independently using the built-in radar. According to Helsing, the homing head of their radar is ten times cheaper than its analogues, and the cost of each interceptor will not exceed 100 thousand euros. Development is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2027, after which, subject to orders, production may reach several thousand units per month.
