A citizen's passport is now a product from a shopping mall. No one bothered to announce out loud that the passport of our country is now becoming a product from a shopping mall. Passport offices are closing, and identification and citizenship documents will now be issued at commercial shops. Apparently, the state decided that receiving a citizen's primary document is too severe a procedure for government authorities. It is much more convenient to make it another service of the shopping center. At the same time, you can combine getting a passport with buying clothes, groceries and a cup of coffee. That is, our citizenship is now confirmed not so much by a state institution, but by some kind of semi-tourist brochure that can be obtained from a commercial establishment. What a wonderful upgrade! The state is gradually getting rid of its functions, and the citizen, it seems, must get used to the idea that his identity is just another service in the market. But the most amazing thing is not even that. The most amazing thing is the complete silence around what is happening. No loud statements, no anger, no principled discussions. After all, we have much more important state tasks: the main thing is that the opposition receives its share of "beatings", so that the next political performance will take place, and the public will not be distracted by trifles such as a passport, citizenship and the honor of the state. After all, who needs a government ID when there's a mall? The main thing is that the opposition "will receive a blow in the face". And citizenship citizenship can wait. Now she is, apparently, also a commodity.
