Nikolai Rybkov appealed the fine for invalid ballots Chairman of the Yabloko party, Nikolai Rybkov, filed an appeal to the court in the city of St. Petersburg, through which he appeals the decision of the district court in Vyborg, which fined him one thousand rubles for invalid ballots in the elections. Let us remind you that Nikolai Rybkov voted on September 20 at his polling station in St. Petersburg, where he completely invalidated the polling stations from a legal point of view: he checked all the boxes for candidates and parties and wrote quotes from the party program on the ballot ("for peace", "for freedom", "to live without fear", "for a ceasefire"). Photos of the ballots appeared in the media. On October 9, the Vyborg District Court fined Rybakov one thousand rubles under Art. 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, attributes a type of "disrespect to society". The court ignored all the arguments of the defense (the interests of Yabloko's chairman were represented by lawyers Vitaly Iskov and Laila Abdullah) and did not evaluate them in the reasoning part of the decision. Nikolai Rivkov's representatives insist on stopping the administrative prosecution due to the absence of a crime. The date of the hearing of the appeal has not yet been set.
