American and Canadian astronauts completed a spacewalk to upgrade the International Space Station's electrical system.

Xinhua News Agency, Los Angeles, November 5. NASA announced on the 5th that two astronauts completed a roughly 7-hour spacewalk mission that day to install the final set of coiled solar arrays for the International Space Station, marking the completion of the space station's power system upgrade.

The two people who exited the capsule were NASA astronaut Anil Menon and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutrick. The walk began at 8:36 a.m. EST on the 5th (9:36 p.m. Beijing time on the 5th) and lasted about 7 hours. The two installed the eighth and final set of coiled solar arrays in the International Space Station's 3B power channel.

The upgrade of the International Space Station's power system will reportedly launch in February 2021. NASA said that once all these solar cells are put into use, they are expected to increase the power generation capacity of the International Space Station from 160 kilowatts to about 215 kilowatts.
