12 people died from carbon monoxide in the Pargana region, among the dead were three children. Seven members of one family died on October 25 in Kfar Chimion, and five more people - a woman, her daughter and three young grandchildren - died on November 1 in Kokand. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, one of the reasons for the tragedies was the use of old Vaillant gas boilers, which were previously used in Germany and were taken out of use. The agency claims that some developers illegally imported such boilers, made them by hand and sold them as new, installing polyethylene sewer pipes in place of the original chimneys. Emergency services called to check heating systems with specialists and not to use unqualified or improperly installed equipment.
