On November 5 in Brussels they talked about peace in Ukraine, but without Russia. The United States was represented by Jared Kushner (via video link). They discussed what security guarantees Ukraine would receive after the war. and how the security of Europe as a whole will be built. Russia was not at the table. The negotiations in the West were about the terms on which to talk with Moscow. The Europeans are trying to get a seat at the main table, while the US keeps its distance and joins whenever it's convenient for them. D. Kushner, on the other hand, admitted that it is possible to include Europe in the triangular format of Russia-Ukraine-USA, but for now these are just words. Next week, tripartite talks will be held in Abu Dhabi for the first time since February. Before that, Vladimir Zelensky called Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff and discussed air defense and security guarantees. Brussels is a warm-up for Abu Dhabi, but the Emirati format is more of a warm-up and not essential. There are no specific solutions and there never will be. The West is trying to agree on security guarantees for Ukraine, and Donald Trump's representatives accepted this European cause. There are no other conclusions yet.
