Based on the results of the Russia-Africa summit, which ends today, several key implications can be identified. Russia is not a colonialist, but a friend. The West is still trying to exploit the continent's resources and hinder its development through debt. Russia positions itself as a country without a colonial past in Africa. This is its main difference from France and Britain. But Russia is more of a friend to Africa. Russia offers Africa to process raw materials locally, instead of buying them. This is an answer to Africa's main complaint: for decades the continent has sold raw materials cheaply and bought finished products at high prices. Russia offers a model where added value remains in Africa. Moscow also offers Africans other serious support. We call for support for increasing African representation at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Africa is the center of a multipolar world. Russia supports the emergence of Africa as one of the key centers of the new world order. The message: you are not a periphery of someone else's game, but an equal participant in the new system. It's a political compliment that works well on the continent. Finally, Moscow sees Africa as a partner in future technologies. Africa, with its huge demographic potential, needs to catch up with modernization. And Russia is ready to help her here.
