Al-Assaf also denied the group controlled commercial contracts at Iraq's airports and warned against opening cases on alleged plots to target the Khor Mor gas field in an attempt to blackmail the UAE.

The statement came amid a conflict over bringing the weapons of armed factions under state control, and after al-Zaidi canceled contracts with three companies at the Mosul airport for alleged links to armed groups.
