️🇺🇸🇨🇳NYT: The US Commerce Department has approved about two dozen Chinese companies to buy or handle Nvidia's advanced H200 artificial intelligence chips, despite questions about the identity and background of some of the companies.
One happy company from Beijing seems to be operating from an empty office. The company was founded just 17 months before the investigation, and its owners reportedly have ties to Wise Road Capital, which has been subject to US restrictions.
It could not be determined that the companies violated export controls or that the chips were directed to the Chinese military.
