️🇺🇸🇮🇷 US Central Command announced on November 7 that Admiral Brad Cooper ordered the establishment of the Task Force's Iron Gate to disrupt illegal transfers across Iran's land borders and through the Caspian Sea region.
The Tampa-based team will include about 20 military and civilian personnel. It will coordinate with other US agencies to disrupt the movement of advanced weapons, dual-use technology, approved materials and illicit funds.
Cooper said the task force would complement the existing US naval blockade. CENTCOM claims that the blockade has prevented Iran from exporting more than $25 billion worth of crude oil in recent months.
