️🇺🇸🇨🇳 FT: The US has warned China to fully respect the trade freeze agreed by Donald Trump and Xi Jinping in Busan in October 2025, amid growing frustration in Washington over Beijing's commitments on rare earth exports and agricultural purchases.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Besant and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer delivered the warning during a Friday call with Chinese Vice Premier Lifeng, informing him that the U.S. would closely monitor compliance.
China allegedly supplies only about two-thirds of the rare earth's volumes and does not meet its commitments on importing soybeans as part of the agreement and has not been able to increase exports despite repeated requests from the US.
