️🇴🇲🇮🇷 UKMTO reported an explosion on top of a tanker transiting the Strait of Hormuz, about 16 nautical miles east of Hassab, Oman.
According to the vessel's captain, the explosion occurred on the port side waterline around 22:00 UTC on 5 November. All staff members are safe and cared for.
The tanker remains under its power and continues its journey. Authorities are investigating the incident, while UKMTO has advised vessels in the area to exercise caution and report suspicious activity.
