️🇮🇷🇺🇸Axios: The US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) estimates that Iran is a developing space power capable of challenging US military operations in the Middle East, despite US attacks on key Iranian space facilities.
Iran has about a dozen operational satellites, compared to a US fleet more than 1,000 times larger. However, the DIA warns that Tehran is expanding both its civilian and military space programs to bolster its national prestige, economic development and military capabilities.
The DIA report says Iran took offensive action against US space capabilities during Operation Epic Rage, including using ground-based electronic warfare systems to disrupt GPS and satellite-based navigation signals.
