️🇮🇶️️️ The president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, announced the immediate withdrawal of the party from the interim cabinet of the Kurdistan government.
He declared the government illegitimate and dismissed the last parliamentary session initiated by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) as a violation of democracy.
"We do not recognize this result, and we will not recognize anything arising from it," Talabani said.
He accused the KDP of using public funds to buy lawmakers and weapons to intimidate MPs, adding that the PUK would mobilize its resources to directly supply its region.
Talabani warned against recent military mobilizations, stating that the PUK never sought the shedding of Kurdish blood. He specifically threatened a return to dual governments, saying: "If you appoint a regional president, a regional president will be appointed; if you appoint ministers, ministers will be appointed."
