Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his retirement from international football, bringing to an end his 23-year career representing Portugal. The 41-year-old announced his decision through a video shared on social media, after months of speculation surrounding his international future. Ronaldo leaves the national team as Portugal's all-time leading goalscorer and winningest player, having won twice at Euro 2016 and the UEFA Nations League. His retirement from his international role is not necessarily the end of his club career.
