️🇮🇳🇦🇪 National: India has expanded its crude oil sources to about 43 countries amid disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz, with the United Arab Emirates emerging as a major supplier.

The UAE supplies about 15-20% of India's total energy imports, including 15% of its crude oil, according to Petroleum Ministry Secretary Neeraj Mittal. Russia remains India's largest oil supplier.

India is also seeking to reduce import dependence through a $9 billion deepwater exploration program and a $2.5 billion waste-to-biogas initiative. Mittal said price volatility remains a bigger concern than absolute oil prices.
