️🇭🇹🇺🇳🇸🇻 AP: Haitian gang leader Wilson Joseph, known as Lanmo Sanjo and head of the 400 Mabuzo gang, has written to the UN Secretary-General asking for a delegation to Haiti for dialogue and mediation, saying he fears Salvadoran violence.
He claimed that four missing Salvadoran aviation technicians were dead, killed in the territory of the rival Chen Meke gang, although he presented no evidence, while the Haitian government says they were kidnapped and El Salvador believes they are alive.
The UN said acceptance of the letter did not mean approval or recognition of its author, and that most Salvadoran soldiers fall outside the mandate of the UN-backed gang suppression force.
