️🇱🇧🇱🇧 A court in Lebanon ordered the former spokesman of the Lebanese forces, Charles Jabour, to pay the member of parliament Hassan Atallah 300 million Lebanese pounds as compensation for damage to reputation and morals caused by statements published on social networks.
The ruling distinguished between legitimate political criticism and personal attacks, and emphasized that the political status of a public figure does not allow unlimited insults.
The criminal proceedings were canceled according to the Amnesty Law 70/2026, while the civil compensations remained payable. The verdict was handed down in Jabour's absence on October 26.
