๏ธ๐พ๐ช๐พ๐ช PLC forces have stepped up operations against Houthi positions across southern Taiz, northern Laji, and al-Jouf as part of the broader Yemen Dawn operation, deploying ground units, artillery, armed drones, airstrikes, and reportedly Apache attack helicopters.
In southern Taiz, national resistance forces continued close combat along the al-Zarika front, aiming to retake strategic high ground around al-Maktra Castle, while government forces are reported to have repelled several Houthi attacks and recaptured hilltop positions.
In al-Jouf, government forces and tribal fighters have reportedly captured the strategic Jabal Husayn mountain range east of al-Hazam, with military footage showing progress, seizing weapons and equipment and drone strikes against Houthi positions. National Defense Forces and emergency brigades also reported operations around the Duhaida Mountains, while the Southern Giants Brigades claimed to have destroyed two Houthi vehicles on the al-Mudarbah Balaj front.
The expanding offensive is aimed at preventing further Houthi advances in the Taiz-Lahj sector while bringing government forces closer to Al-Hazm, which remains under Houthi control. However, the ability to hold captured positions will depend on continued air support and coordination between the various government formations.
