️🇨🇦🇺🇸 The Globe and Mail: Anthropic is in lease negotiations for a proposed high-scale data center campus in Sturgeon County, Alberta, that will include four AI-centric data halls powered by a 920 MW natural gas plant at U3.
The project follows a 20-year lease signed on Oct. 16 for an 18,600-square-meter facility in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, being built by EverWind Fuels in two phases to provide 95MW from the end of 2027 and a later 325MW phase from Claude that will support a 325MW investment by Claude, an AI utility.
Anthropic spent more than $7 billion on computing and infrastructure last year, and is aiming for a U.S. IPO the week of Nov. 16 at a value of $1.5-2 trillion, with up to $567 billion committed to future calculation.
