๏ธ๐ฑ๐ง๐ฑ๐ง๐ต๐ธ Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam, at the launch of the consultations on Lebanon's national plan for the administration of the Palestinian camp:
"The administration of the camp is central to the restoration of the state and its institutions. We maintain the state's monopoly on the use of force and its authority to decide on matters of war and peace."
"We started taking steps with the Palestinian leadership to take care of the Palestinian weapons and we will continue until this process is completed. The camps are under Lebanese sovereignty and Lebanese law. The presence of state institutions within them must be clear and consistent."
"Our sovereignty also requires an end to Israel's occupation of our remaining territory, a halt to attacks, the return of our people to their villages and the rebuilding of what the war destroyed. We want a country responsible for security and defense, capable of protecting its land and its people."
