Sky News: Unusually, three of the UK's four Trident-class nuclear-armed submarines are currently in service at the same time. The vessels, including at least one carrying nuclear warheads, are on a routine patrol while the fourth remains in Devonport for maintenance and another Vanguard-class boat is apparently ready to facilitate a patrol, reflecting an improvement in availability after years of effort. The move follows a 200-day Vanguard tour last year and a record 207-day deployment by HMS Victorious in 2021, and a Ministry of Defense spokesman said "our nuclear deterrent is the cornerstone of our national security, protecting the UK and our NATO allies every moment of every day".
