Jumblatt claimed that the Israeli government makes decisions concerning the Druze communities in both Israel and Syria. He accused Israel of striving for territorial expansion in Syria and Lebanon while seeking to erase the Palestinian national identity in Gaza and the West Bank.
"If we, as Druze, do not embrace broader movements of national solidarity and Arab nationalism, we are heading towards collective suicide."
