️🇱🇧🇸🇾🇺🇸🇮🇱 Lebanese Druze leader Walid Jumblatt on negotiations with Israel:.
"The Americans are withdrawing from the region, and the Israelis are filling the vacuum. We made a mistake when we chose the Marco Rubio route instead of the Islamabad route. Rubio's approach will get us nowhere."
"I do not believe that the Lebanese-Israeli negotiations, in their current form, will yield results as long as Israel continues to occupy southern Lebanon. The government tried, but to believe that the Americans can pressure Israel to withdraw is a complete illusion."
"Israel seeks to erase the memories of southern Lebanon, as if preparing to establish settlements in parts of it. No matter who wins the elections in Israel, nothing will change."
