️🇪🇬🇸🇦🇾🇪🇾🇪 AJ: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that Cairo's potential military involvement would be limited to protecting "Saudi Arabia's territory and borders," while ruling out offensive operations in Yemen.

The Red Sea crisis has hit Egypt's Suez Canal revenues hard, with the International Monetary Fund saying Egypt will lose $6 billion in canal-related foreign exchange inflows in 2024 compared to 2023, while trade volumes through the transit have fallen to a third of pre-crisis levels.

The Suez Canal Authority reported a recovery in August 2026, with revenues up 56.7% year-on-year to $567.1 million, although regional instability continues to threaten the recovery.
