Repeated missile and drone attacks by the Houthis have exposed gaps in Saudi defenses, while Washington still refuses to enter into another direct conflict. The previous air campaigns of Saudi Arabia and the US also failed to eliminate the group's military capabilities.

The proposed coalition would draw on Pakistan's mountain troops, Turkey's navy and European military support, combining land, naval and defensive capabilities to pressure the Houthis while protecting Saudi territory and regional shipping lanes.
