️🇹🇷🇬🇷 Turkey's Foreign Ministry has accused Greece of ignoring the rights and religious freedoms of the Turkish minority in Western Thrace by appointing muftis in Komotini and Baxanti.

The ministry said that Greece's refusal to recognize the muftis elected by the minority ignores its will and violates the rights guaranteed under the Lausanne Peace Treaty and international agreements.

"We call on the Greek authorities to recognize the legitimate muftis chosen by the minority and put an end to their attempts to impose appointed muftis."
