οΈπΊπΈπ·πΊ FT: Former Polar Train LNG CEO Joel Riddle has accused Russian energy giant Novatek of secretly financing and controlling the $25 billion Alaska gas export venture without US approval, prompting the resignation of nearly the entire management team over fears the project violated US sanctions.
Polar LNG called Riddle a "disgruntled employee" and said it was complying with U.S. law, while Novatek said it was only granting technology rights and that any deal would require approval from U.S. and Russian authorities, as the project appeared in U.S.-Russia negotiations that would reportedly lift sanctions on Novatek's construction of a Novatek LNG terminal in Alaska.
