The haze, linked to slash-and-burn fires that have burned more than 1.9 million hectares this year and killed more than 333,470 people in seven provinces since mid-August, has sparked anger at the government's response.

Authorities have deployed more than 60,000 firefighters, 49 water-bombing planes and even spread 2.4 tons of dry ice in South Sumatra, while neighboring Singapore and Malaysia are reporting record pollution levels.
