️🇺🇸🇪🇺 Reuters: The American technology company Palantir sought to reassure European governments that neither it nor Washington can remotely disable the AI system used by NATO's military command, amid growing concerns about Europe's dependence on American defense technology.
“There are no kill switches. There's no ability for Palantir or the US government to come in and shut it down," said Lewis Mosley, the company's senior vice president for the UK and Europe.
Maven's intelligent system processes data from satellites, radar and other sensors to help military commanders assess battlefield conditions and make decisions.
The concerns follow reported disruptions to Ukraine's access to SpaceX's Starshield satellite services, which have reportedly affected military operations. Germany and France opposed the adoption of Palantir's method for their armed forces, citing national security and technological sovereignty.
