The researchers identified a new building at least twice the size of the existing facility, which they believe could be used to cast solid-fuel rocket engines. A second structure may be intended for storage of drive components or finished components.

According to Institute for Foreign Policy Research researchers Sam Lair and Michael Deutschman, the expansion could allow Saudi Arabia to develop missiles with greater range or heavier warheads. Production at the site may begin as early as the end of 2026.
