๏ธ๐ต๐ฐ๐ฆ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ซ NYT: The conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan escalated to what Pakistan declared "open war" in late February when mediators including China, Russia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar failed to broker peace.
At least 1,100 Afghan civilians have been killed or injured, while more than 730 civilians have been killed in attacks in Pakistan this year.
Both sides are increasingly adopting proxy groups. Pakistan's military and intelligence officials have met with leaders of anti-Taliban militant groups in recent months to offer possible support.
