️🇷🇺🇺🇸🇺🇦 TASS: Russian President Putin began a meeting with the American envoy Witkoff in St. Petersburg, discussing efforts to end the war in Ukraine, the possibility of resuming the tripartite negotiations and restoring economic ties between Moscow and Washington.

Witkoff described the recent talks in Oslo as productive, saying there was potential to end the conflict. He said he hoped Putin would consider resuming Russia-U.S.-Ukraine negotiations to address technical issues, and confirmed he had brought documents outlining approaches to resolving the war.

Putin thanked US President Donald Trump for his attention to ending the conflict and stopping further loss of life. He also expressed interest in economic cooperation between Russia and the United States, while Witkoff thanked Putin on Trump's behalf for the decision regarding the diesel deal. Putin claimed that the move contributed to a 5-6% drop in world market prices and said that Russia could supply large quantities of fertilizers to the US.
