Assistant Commissioner Lawrence Taylor said investigators consider the involvement of the Iranian state highly likely and that the men had previously been released on bail after the midnight drive to Walford, a village in Gloucestershire near the air base used by the US, where no explosives were found.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham told the public that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was almost certainly behind the affair that caused the US to withdraw 12 B-1 bombers from the base.
