Citing an official source in the Syrian Transitional Government: The Druze community in As-Suwayda Governorate was and will remain an inseparable and authentic part of the national fabric of the Syrian Arab Republic. We absolutely reject any politicization of this community or its exploitation in the context of Israeli propaganda and elections. In July of last year, Israel played a significant and calculated role aimed at undermining civil peace in al-Suwayda by arming illegal militias. The goal was to provoke widespread chaos and create a pretext to drag the country into a full-scale war. While we were able to thwart this, we continue to witness ongoing Israeli attempts to undermine the current situation in the Nafe. We confirm that in July of last year - facilitated by American mediation - the Israeli bombing, which previously interfered with the intervention of the Syrian governments to resolve the conflict between the Druze and Bedouin communities, was stopped. We continue to work diligently with our partners in the United States and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to implement a tripartite road map for the reintegration of al-Suwayda, based on a Syrian national vision that guarantees the rights of the local population, as well as security and stability. We call on the international community, the United States and the nations of the region to fulfill their responsibilities by pressuring Israel to adhere to the 1974 disengagement agreement and stop interfering in the internal affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic.
